DESCRIPTION
Want to demystify the grant process? This hour-long, workshop explains how the Artists 360 program serves artists of the Northwest Arkansas region with practice-based funding, professional development, and mentorship. In the How to Apply Yourself workshop, artists will learn about the application process and have time to ask questions.
Since its inception in 2018, Artists 360 has awarded $1 million to 138 artists living and working in Benton, Carroll, Crawford, Sebastian, and Washington counties through the generous philanthropic support of Tom and Steuart Walton through the Walton Family Foundation.
In its seventh cohort, Mid-America Arts Alliance is shifting the program’s focus from project-based support to a practice-based support model. Artists 360 will make monetary awards in five categories to 31 Northwest Arkansas artists. In each category Artist 360 fellows may choose how to best use the funding in support of their creative practices. Graduate Student, Practicing Artist, and Community Impact grantees will actively work under the guidance of Peer Artist Facilitators to formulate their self-determined ideas of success and strategically plan how best to use the funding to achieve their goals in an amplifying professional development retreat weekend. Ongoing support is provided through one-on-one coaching sessions through the following year.
