Folk and Traditional Arts Initiative
M-AAA is pleased to collaborate with our six-state folk and traditional arts partners to conduct a region-wide scan of the field. Funded by the National Endowment for the Arts, this project provides first-hand insight and is an important first step in growing and deepening folk and traditional arts in our region.
This project engages community scholars and emerging folk and traditional arts practitioners to identify artists, as well as those who may not self-identify as folk/traditional artists. We especially look forward to hearing from practitioners with limited access to resources due to race, ethnicity, geography, or other systemic barriers.
