Kansas Returns as M-AAA Partner

Kansas Regains Status as Qualifying Partner with Mid-America Arts Alliance
The Board of Directors of Mid-America Arts Alliance voted to renew its partnership with the Kansas Creative Arts Industries Commission (KCAIC) for FY17 (now through June 30, 2017). Effective immediately, artists and arts organizations in Kansas may apply for funding from M-AAA.
Funding available: RTP grants, Exhibition discounts, and more.
Laura Scanlan, director of State and Regional Partnerships for the National Endowment for the Arts, said, “we look forward to providing more Kansans with opportunities to engage with arts and culture. Kansas Creative Arts Industries is an important partner in the tapestry of America’s arts ecosystem. The National Endowment for the Arts aims to serve all Americans in communities, large and small.”
Peter Jasso, director of KCAIC, and Larry Meeker, chairman of KCAIC, worked diligently to create strategic collaborations within the state to meet NEA funding requirements and regain partnership status. This news means all Kansans may benefit from increased arts funding in their state. Jasso said, “the commission looks forward to working with both the NEA and Mid-America to serve all communities across Kansas. The funding and resources these partnerships provide help strengthen the vital and essential role the arts play in all aspects of economic and community development.”
